This weekend on Sunday come to a fun event in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District to celebrate the Lunar New Year Celebration. Cost is free, time is on Sunday the 11th is 11am-4pm. For $3 you can sample food and be entered into a drawing. There will be costume contest for adults and kids. Lots of entertainment as well.

Fun things to do this Weekend!

In Renton at Sweet Decadence they have a fun wine and chocolate pairing. As you have 4 selected premium wines and 4 artisan chocolates. Then a specialist will help you and show you how each pair together. This event is Friday and Saturday from 3:00-8:00 pm cost is $35 per person.

Also this weekend at South Lake Union the Seattle Boat Show is starting this weekend. And at South Lake Union free parking! And while you are there bring your appetite because the Chomp into this-Charity Chowder Cook-Off is this weekend only. Sample and be a judge of some well known Chowders.

 

 

Mercer Island Farmers Market On September 20

Sunday, September 20th MIFM – Experience the Market! Farmers – Families – Food

640px-22-pie_crimped Are you a pie baking extraordinaire? Then here is a contest for you. It’s fall time and pumpkin pie season is upon us. Open to all amateur bakers. And there will be 3 age groups. 12 and under, 13-17 and 18+. A registration form must be filled out for each entry and include a donation of $5.00. Proceeds will be donated to MIYFS Food Pantry. Click here for a registration form. Registration deadline is October 4, 2015. The Pie baking contest is for Sunday, October 11, 2015.



For your musical enjoyment you will hear Folichon Cajun Band! Its is sure to be a hit with Cajun Music!

At the children’s table learn about spiders and how even though a lot of people think they are scary and creepy, how they really do good for us.

Master Gardeners will be there as well to help with your questions and ideas for your winter salad!

Mercer Island Farmers Market: Sunday, August 8th

This week, Sunday August 9, the farmers market calendar is celebrating their 8th birthday! What a better way to do that then Berry Pie Baking Contest!!

They will have free bag giveaway! As well as two tasting events Mac n Cheese in the AM and Berry Crumbles in the PM

The band will be The Archtops: Jazz, Blues, Rhythm and county.  They are a wonderful band that you won’t want to miss.

Over at the Children’s Table With Judy, kids will be treated to Berry Ink! The berries are ripe and it’s time for berry ink and paint!

And Master Gardeners will be on site to answer questions. Stop by their booth to learn more about gardening best practices and find answers to those questions you have.

jazz standards with a saxophone, bass, drums, and tenor.

Over at the Children’s Table With Judy, kids will be treated to Lavender Bundles! They will discover the sweet smell of plants and take a good smell home with you!

  • Children’s Table: Seed Sorting
    Making Plant Markers Be a Seed Sorter and make plant markers…sort the seeds and make seed markers for your garden.
  • Master Gardeners will be at the market.

Hello!! Happy Labor Day Weekend! Are your kids ready to go back to school after this wonderful summer???

This week’s Title at the MI Farmers Market is: Get 5 a day – Fruits and Vegetables.

Over the next few weeks the MI Farmers Market is hosting a Back To School Days, with free live music from popular bands!! All patrons are invited to bring school lunch food staples to donate to the Food Pantry operated by the City’s Youth and Family Services Department.

This week’s band is the Jazz Connection.
