Lantern Light Festival
January 6th and January 7th, the Washington State Fair Events Center in Puyallup will be continuing their weekend lantern festival. A Chinese tradition that dates back thousands of years, the Lantern Light Festival showcases giant, hand-crafted lanterns. Traditionally, these lanterns are made of paper and are sent floating up into the sky, but for this special festival, they are stationary so that people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy the unique artwork and the stories each lantern tells.
Along with these incredible lanterns, there also many other creative and exciting things to do. Families will enjoy Chinese acrobats, face painting, delicious food, and even inflatables for children! Tickets are relatively cheap, and kids under 3 are admitted for free.
