Sound Transit is hosting a community input meeting, aka “Listening Tour,” at Mercer Island Community & Event Center on this evening, scheduled from 5-7pm. The Listening Tour will include representatives from Sound Transit, the City of Mercer Island, King County Metro and WSDOT. Topics being discussed include upcoming changes connected to the East Link Light Rail project, commuter bus issues, commuter parking, and traffic impacts. Click here to access the Listening Tour meeting materials.
If you’d like to read more about transportation issues and proposals islanders will be facing, Erin Sirianni, of My Mercer Island, put together a comprehensive article on the transportation issues that will be affecting island residents in the near future. Mercer Island city council candidates have also been fielding transportation related questions at community forums. It was definitely a hot topic at the September 15th voter’s forum at Mercer Island Beach Club.
Please stop by tonight’s meeting so you can participate in the conversation surrounding important transit issues that will affect island residents in the near future. Can’t make it this evening? In addition to the Listening Tour there will be 3 drop-in sessions here on Mercer Island within the next two weeks.
