Daylight Savings: Reset Your Clocks and Your Smoke Detectors

Fall Back

Happy November, everyone! The Mercer Island Fire Department is encouraging all homeowners to adopt a new habit: change the batteries on your smoke detectors when daylight savings happens twice a year. Daylight savings is tomorrow, November 2nd, when we’ll fall back an hour. In support of this, the MIFD will be giving away over 1,000 batteries today (November 1st) at the North-end QFC from 10-2 and at the South-end QFC from 1-3 pm. Enjoy that extra hour of sleep, Islanders!
