Back to School, 2013-2014: Mercer Island School District

Teacher and Student In A Classroom At School How was your first week back to school? There were probably numerous pieces of paper for you and your student to sift through the last 7 days. If you think you may be missing some important Mercer Island School District information, take a moment to check out the ’13-14 Back to School Webpage, which includes both a 1 page pdf calendar and an online district calendar, by month. Do you have questions about bus routes? Click here for more details.

Are you new to the Mercer Island School district? There’s a webpage welcoming new families, which include parent contacts for each school in case you have some community questions. Do you have questions about the district curriculum? MISD also has a set of curriculum webpages, set up by grade level. Navigate to your student’s grade level in the left hand sidebar. You can also attend the Curriculum Night at your student’s school to get any questions answered (the nights vary by school, but most are in mid-September).

If you have a student at the high school, take a moment to check out the Mercer Island High School website, which contains an abundant amount of information. If you need a reminder about your student’s varying schedule, there is a page outlining the daily schedules at the high school.

Do you need some ideas for packing nutritious, but fun, lunches for your student? We’re pinning back-to-school lunch ideas on our Get Your Gourmet On! Board. We’ll be adding new suggestions all week. If you have ideas you’d like to share about school lunches, please use the comment section below.

Cheers to a fabulous school year!
