Hello! Wondering what to do for lunch Sunday??
Mercer Island Farmers Market recently published a list of their 2013 vendors who will have booths at the market during the 2013 season. It’s nice to know that Mercer Island Farmers Market is a producer/grower market only, which means that consumers purchase fresh items directly from the farmer, or from the company which produces the item. What kind of goods can you purchase on Sundays at the market? Fresh fruits & vegetables, meats, cheeses, baked goods, honey, ice cream, pizza, crepes, eggs, granola, jams & jellies, juices, herbs, plants and flowers are available, all from local vendors.
- This week at Mercer Island Farmers Market is opening day, Sunday 6/9 10-3 pm. There will be live music Garrett & Westcott will kickoff the music season. Their music incorporates Latin rhythms, blues, gospel, jazz, and much more.
- The children’s table returns this year as well and kicks off opening day where kids can plant seeds and make a pocket garden. Each Sunday beloved, local pre-school teacher, Judy Witmer, organizes a children’s table with a carefully designed activity for the youngest members of our community. Judy develops hands-on activities to help educate children about a variety subjects all related to food and farming. Adults learn something too!
