Bucking the trend across the Eastside and King County regions, Mercer Island real estate activity slowed slightly in July putting it on par with that of July 2008 following a two year peak in June. Typical of seasonal market fluctuations, this slow-down in sales activity is no cause for alarm. The Average Sales Price on the Island in July was $1,071,000, down 22.7% from one year ago. The Median Sales Price of $880,000 is down only 11% from the prior year indicating greater strength in the more moderate price ranges than in the high-end.
